Misty is the Co-founder of Pirahna Tank, a show that brings together entrepreneurs and investors. We met at Union Station in Washington, D.C. and took some photos in front of the building. I ran into my friend, Steve who is the executive director for a large organization next door. He gave us access to the rooftop of his building that enabled us to get some stunning views of the U.S. Capitol building!
These are my works of 2016. All photos were shot with Canon's full-frame 6D with a variety of lenses: 35 1.4 L, 24-70 II 2.8 L, and the 70-200 2.8 IS L. For walk-around use I take my 40mm 2.8 pancake lens as it's lightweight and efficient but you'll see none of those photos here.
If you would like to set up a shoot you may contact me directly at 703-801-0466 or email@example.com.

Anna Belle responded to the open-casting call for tattooed subjects. We scouted an area in Old Town, Alexandria in Virginia and took some shots. After leaving we drove passed a gentleman's house who had his garage door opened. He was kind enough to allow us to use his 67 Shelby Cobra and 67 HSA motorcycle to continue our shoot!

Jimmy contacted me at 1:00 in the morning on the day he decided to propose to his now fiancée, Hyejin. We captured the moment at the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C. After an impromptu shoot in the tulip garden we set up a follow-up session at Meadowlark Park in Vienna, VA. The photos are currently omitted until the couple have a chance to first share it with their friends and family.

Kat Arias of the Ferocity Dance Company choreographed a routine to Romeo Santos' song, Inocente. The song is about a man whom is accused of cheating and attempts desperately to plead his case. Our sister company, Karivae Studios, put together a video to highlight not only the choreography but interpret the song as well. The photos were shot with a 35mm 1.4 lens.

Emy responded to my open-shoot for the Tatted series. We shot in Crystal City in Arlington, Virginia. Although there was an iconic "Chandelier" that I wanted in the frame... the photos themselves came out a bit too over-exposed so I omitted them from my portfolio

I met her while shooting a graduation and we had an impromptu photoshoot. Honestly, I'm not even sure if I spelled her name correctly. Leda, if this is your photo please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know if I misspelled it! Thank you for allowing me to use these photos for my portfolio!

Terrisa is a driving force behind www.DCZoukFestival.com. We shot in Clarendon, a suburb of Arlington, VA for the Dancers in DC project. Although it's not technically in DC, it is in the surrounding metropolitan area that some would consider, "the suburbs of DC." This was the first time I shot Dancers in DC outside of Washington... because quite frankly I didn't feel like fighting traffic and parking.

Bryan responded to an open-casting call. We went to Georgetown in Washington, D.C. to shoot and Jeani noticed his shirt didn't match. They went to a nearby store to grab a gray shirt and subsequently discovered a tight alleyway beside the store. The alley turned out to be a great site to shoot!

When you have a chance to shoot multi-billionaires... you take it! After winning a contest with Virgin Atlantic in association with General Assembly, I was invited to an event held in Washington, D.C. "Business is an Adventure" is a program led by Richard Branson, CEO of Virgin Atlantic. The panel consisted of the CEOs of other large companies (Salamander Hotel, 1776, Under Armor).

I met Noura and Johnny at a pool hall one evening. After chatting briefly I gave them my business cards and they expressed an interest in having photos done in the near future. Weeks after we met they were officially engaged! They reached out to me to have formal engagement photos done. As with all my engagement shoots, the photos are withheld until they have the first opportunity to share. The photos below are posted with permission.

This shoot took place at Georgetown park overlooking the Key Bridge in Washington, D.C. A 70-200 2.8 lens was used with an off-camera flash attached to a 16" softbox. We started shooting as night began to fall. There were shady characters in the area making comments as the shoot went on. Since it was a relatively remote location and we were carrying expensive equipment, we wrapped things up quickly for our own safety!

Orchestrated over several months, the Ferocity Dance Company met at the studio to have their annual group photos taken. Portrait Photography is more than just taking a picture; it's about people. In order to shoot for twelve consecutive hours with a group of 70-80 people you need to know PEOPLE. You must say the right things to make your subjects feel comfortable and tailor it to the individual needs of each person.
This shoot alone deserves its own page. Below I've included some behind-the-scenes shost. The director, Kat, will share the photos are her discretion prior to my posting here.

Marcelo knows how to prepare for a shoot! With prior modeling experience, he brought a large wardrobe and a steamer! Natty complimented him well in photos and we shot at a common room in his condominium. The light was giving us difficulty but we managed to pull some shots together. For these shots a 24-70 2.8 IS was used with an off-camera flash/softbox.
